The Getaboard Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2003 to support the growing number of under privileged and at-risk youth that have become attracted to action sports through mainstream media and events, such as “Rob and Big”, FUEL TV, the X-Games, the Dew Tour and Tony Hawk Pro Skater video game series. These adolescents want and need a pastime such as action sports to help them make it through an often-turbulent time in their lives. Getaboard provides surfing, skateboarding, and art lessons and scholarships for at-risk youth, and to date, has taught over 2,000 at-risk youth the value of hard work, discipline, and a positive self image through action sports.
